Simon Stallard

Simon also performs as a soloist, with a greater focus on songs and storytelling as well as a separate repertoire of instrumental pieces. With self-accompanied and unaccompanied singing, soul-stirring flute melodies and an infectious love of history and folklore, Simon weaves together poignant and atmospheric sets.

“Your show was like a well-crafted aerial firework display, with its interweaving strands & colours
culminating in three mighty detonations.”

At the Royal National Mòd, the foremost cultural and music festival of the Gàidhlig-speaking world, Simon has participated in and won several prestigious singing competitions. At Mòd An Òban 2024 he won An Aigeallain Airgid, the Silver Pendant competition, and in Mòd Loch Abar 2025 he won the Farpais CalMac. Both winning performances were aired on BBC Alba.
